Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed professional business fraternity founded in 1904 with the purpose of developing its members into principled business leaders. Alpha Kappa Psi has grown to be the oldest and largest business fraternity in the world, and boasts alumni such as Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, and Lee Iacocca.

The Omega Psi chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi was chartered in 2005 at Carnegie Mellon University. The Alpha Kappa Psi chapter at CMU currently has 90 active brothers, and over 250 alumni. Although we are a business fraternity, our brothers hail from nearly every college at CMU – including majors from architecture to computer science.  Our alumni have graduated to work in diverse and challenging fields such as finance, technology, government, consulting, and healthcare.

The CMU AKΨ Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 by the brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi at Carnegie Mellon University in order to give back to the Pittsburgh community. The CMU AKΨ Scholarship Fund intends to recognize high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence and involvement in their communities. The scholarship fund welcomes applications from high school seniors graduating from schools in the Pittsburgh area attending an accredited four-year university after graduation.

Successful applicants display leadership qualities in and outside of the classroom. We want to see that an applicant takes initiative when starting on new projects, and can execute the goals of the project effectively. We want to hear about your passions, your interests and your academics. We also look forward to hearing about your future plans. To protect sensitive information, we will not be asking for student’s financial aid information or home address. Rather, we will be contacting the winner’s school directly.

In this application, we require your basic school information, a list of activities you are a part of, your intended college and major, one letter of recommendation, and two short answer questions and one essay question. If you have any questions or concerns about the application, feel free to email arudina@andrew.cmu.edu.

Applications are due on April 19 at 11:59PM. The winner will be contacted on May 1, 2019. Thank you for considering the CMU AKPsi scholarship, and we look forward to reviewing your application.
